Good chemistry, worth checking out

“Ghostbusters” has a really bad trailer. I mean it isn’t funny or anything. But the film on the other hand is funny and surprisingly good. This new group of ghostbusters are all women, and I know immediately a lot of guys will hate that. Hate what you want, but they all have good chemistry together. Same kind of special effects as the original in many respects, and some scenes pretty much mirror what went on in the other, but overall the wit kept this going. Kristen Wiig and Melissa McCarthy play the two leads, and Kate McKinnon, Leslie Jones and Chris Hemsworth are also in most scenes. After witnessing a ghost Wiig, McCarthy and McKinnon join forces in attempts to capture it. Tracking other sightings Jones latches on to the group and Hemsworth plays a dim-witted secretary aka eye candy for the women. Harold Ramis and Dan Aykroyd are a couple of the producers so you can trust that they were not going to let this thing go astray. Bill Murray, Aykroyd, Ernie Hudson and Sigourney Weaver all appear at some level in the movie, and there are more than a few nods to the original here to entertain. If you are one who doesn’t want to see an all woman cast in this version of Ghostbusters, or you are allowing the new version of the theme song from keeping you to see this then it is your loss. Those who want to see something a little bit funny, some nice chemistry, and an alright story go check it out…or wait a few months when it comes out on disc, whatever you want. But it is worth watching. ** 1/2 out of 4 stars.

    Where?
Everything feels disjointed, there’s no chemistry in the scenes whatsoever, everybody is just doing their own thing with McKinnon hamming it up to the max trying to take over all scenes she’s in.

The first Ghostbusters had some great chemistry between the actors. Watch the scene where Aykroyd brings the car in and just how Murray reacts with only saying once sentence but still plays up to Aykroyd perfectly (watch his face fall apart when the price of the car is mentioned)

Harold Ramis and Dan Aykroyd are a couple of the producers so you can trust that they were not going to let this thing go astray.

You do know that Ramis has been dead for a couple years? Long before the production even started? The only reason those two have a producer credit is because they invented the Ghostbusters, they own the franchise. Both though had basically nothing to do with the casting ,the writing, the production, the directing or anything else.

Bill Murray, Aykroyd, Ernie Hudson and Sigourney Weaver all appear at some level in the movie

Murray was more or less blackmailed (read the Sony leaks), Hudson will appear in anything as long as there’s a steady paycheck, his career doesn’t even exist and Weaver probably only accepted it because she felt bad for saying no to appearing in the Video Game which she called a big mistake.

    then it is your loss

What do i lose? I lost 2 hours watching this horrendously unfunny, terribly directed and edited mess of a movie that in certain parts (like at the end of the concert when the audience and music sounds just cut out and how some scenes jump from place to place, how does the stationary GB-Mobile move from the chinese Restaurant to a parking lot at once?) is completely amateur.

Will people finally realize that the movie doesn’t get blasted because it features women but because it’s a terrible, unfunny mess that feels completely disjointed in it’s scenes and progression?
I guess it’s easier to just scream “Hater” like a retard and say “you only don’t like it because of women” which makes me wonder how exactly movies like the Alien Franchise, Tomb Raider, the Nikita Franchise, Inusrgent, Hunger Games and Charlies Angels were a success.

I totally remember the outrage over Terminator 2 when people noticed that Linda Hamilton moved into the main focus and became a gun-wielding action star. I remember how the movie bombed big time because of that…wait…
